These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Transcribe(“transcribee.io”, “we”, “us”). They apply to the transcribee.io website, the web app, and the meeting recorder (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, buying a subscription or otherwise using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm that you may bind it.
1. What the Service does
transcribee.io turns audio and video into text. You can upload a file or send a recorder bot to an online meeting (Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex and GoToMeeting links). We then produce a transcript with timestamps and speaker labels, an AI summary with action items, and exports in formats such as DOCX, PDF, TXT, SRT and VTT. Language detection, speaker labels, transcripts and summaries are produced automatically by software and by AI models.
We may improve, change or remove features from time to time. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. The Service is not directed at children.
- You sign up with an email address and password or with Google. You must confirm your email address before using the Service.
- Give us accurate information, keep your credentials confidential and tell us at once at support@transcribee.io if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Accounts are personal and may not be sold or transferred without our written consent. One person or organization may not create multiple accounts to get around plan limits.
3. Plans, subscriptions and payments
The Service has a Free plan and a paid plan called Unlimited, billed monthly or yearly. Current plans, prices and limits are on the Pricing section of our website.
- Merchant of record. Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”) sells the paid plans to you as our merchant of record. Paddle processes your payment, calculates and collects applicable taxes and issues invoices. Paddle’s buyer terms and privacy notice apply to the purchase. We never see or store your full card number.
- Automatic renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel.
- Trials and introductory prices. Some offers charge a reduced price for a first period, after which the subscription renews at the regular price shown at checkout. Cancel before the period ends to avoid the renewal.
- Price changes. We will email you at least 30 days before a price change applies to your subscription. It takes effect from the next billing period.
- Cancellation, resuming and refunds are described in the Subscription & Refund Policy.
4. Your content
Your recordings, uploaded files, meeting recordings, transcripts and summaries (“Your Content”) belong to you. We claim no ownership of them.
You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store and process Your Content, and to pass it to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy, only as needed to provide the Service to you. You confirm that you have all rights and permissions needed for Your Content and for us to process it.
We do not use Your Content to train AI models. You can delete any recording and its transcript at any time, and you can delete your whole account in the settings. See the Privacy Policy for how long data is kept.
5. Recording meetings
When you send the recorder to a meeting it joins as a participant and records audio, and where available video, of the call. You are solely responsible for having the right to record: you must tell participants that the meeting is being recorded and obtain any consent required by the laws that apply to you and to them. Meeting hosts can remove the recorder at any time. Do not use the recorder where recording is prohibited.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or process content you have no right to process, including content that infringes others’ rights or is illegal to possess;
- record people without the notice or consent that the law requires;
- attempt to access other accounts, probe, overload or disrupt the Service, or bypass limits and security measures;
- reverse engineer, scrape, resell or sublicense the Service, or use it to build a competing product;
- use automated tools to create accounts or to submit files in bulk beyond normal use;
- upload malware or content designed to harm the Service or other people.
We may refuse, suspend or remove content or accounts that breach these rules. Paid plans are also subject to our Fair Use Policy.
7. AI output and accuracy
Transcripts, speaker labels, language detection and summaries are generated automatically and can contain mistakes, especially with poor audio, accents, overlapping speech or specialist terms. Always check the output before you rely on it, publish it or use it for legal, medical, financial or safety decisions. The Service does not provide professional advice.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including speech recognition and summarization providers, a meeting-recording provider, a payment provider and Google sign-in. They are listed in the Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for third-party services, but we choose providers carefully and require them to protect Your Content.
9. Our rights
The Service, its software, design, text and trademarks belong to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own purposes while you comply with them. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.
10. Availability and support
We aim to keep the Service available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may suspend it for maintenance or security reasons. Support is available at support@transcribee.io, and we usually reply within 24 hours.
11. Disclaimers and limits of liability
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or that output will be accurate.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, loss of data or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights that you have where you live.
12. Indemnification
If you are a business, you will compensate us for claims, losses and costs arising from Your Content, your breach of these Terms or your violation of law or of others’ rights.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or the law, if required for security, or if we stop offering the Service. If we end a paid subscription without a breach by you, we will refund the unused part of the period. The sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, liability and governing law) continue to apply.
14. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give at least 14 days’ notice by email or in the app. If you keep using the Service after the effective date you accept the changes; if you do not agree, you can cancel before then.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Country], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts of [city, country] have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live.
16. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Subscription & Refund Policy and Fair Use Policy, are the entire agreement between us about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. We may assign these Terms in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. If these Terms are translated, the English version prevails.
